The Birdhunter
Monday, September 21st, 2009Two weeks ago we posted about our missing kitty. The result, a couple dozen voicemail messages, a handfull of e-mails and text messages and some comments on our post. Unfortunately none of them led to the exact whereabouts of our kitty ór killer bird. We mention ‘killer’ because a number of people have also spotted the bird. See the reaction of Avram:
‘Whoa! I’m in Korithi on the island of Andros, off the coast of Greece. I just saw huge fucking bird steal octupus from klamata vendor while clutching a cat in its talons! I went to spear it with my trusty javelin but the Simurgh got away. I will keep an eye out, but no guarantees.’
This is some serious shit guys. We couldn’t just sit back and wait. We had to take some action ourselves. Therefor we present you, The Birdhunter.

We need your help on this one guys. Our little black kitty is lost. Word is that a giant killer bird ate him. But we’re not sure yet. A number of people have seen this gigantic bird chasing down cats all over the planet. Again, others claimed to have seen a monster in Loch Ness or UFO’s so we don’t know. Last friday we went downtown to hang out Have You Seen My Kitty posters on spots where our kitty loves to go.
UPDATE#1: you can help us finding our little friend too by posting the poster at crowded places in your area. You can find it here. If you do, don’t forget to make a picture of the actual hanging and sent it to us at info@academyforthegifted.com. Those who do will receive some love from AFTG.
UPDATE#2: if you’ve seen the killer bird, tell us about it. How does it looks like and where did you saw it. The more info and clues we have about this possible cruel species, the better.

A proper introduction
Monday, June 1st, 2009You might wonder who the hell are behind this whole Academy something. Well, it’s time we tell you something about ourselves. We’re a team of three, live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and love life! We cherish boardsports, art, music and all other stuff you’ll find on our site. We mostly make fun of each other and mock almost everything we see. When together there’s no stopping the giggle. What’s else to tell… Well we love boardsports, parties, music, travelling and even more parties. Heineken is our favorite party starter and love the presence of our friends and loved ones.
Manfung is responsible for the designs on the shirts while Wesley makes sure the whole distribution thing keeps up and is your service guy. Joey does some PR and other marketing stuff people should do to make the brand heard all over the planet. All together we figure out new concepts and ways to amaze you and make you want to connect and identify with the Academy for the Gifted.
At the moment we’re planning some crazy stuff. Can’t tell you guys everything but AFTG is heading forwards fast. Just a couple more pieces to fill in the puzzle. Stay tuned and be a part.
We had a little party
Friday, May 1st, 2009Queensday in Holland means crazy times! And again this year, we had a nice one in Rotterdam. The Pannekoekstraat (Pancakestreet) was packed with people and had some nice things going on over at Soho and the Level and Banana Pancakes joint. We also spotted some nice AFTG tees in the crowd. Alexis and James did a pose for us. Thanks everyone for another good memory! See you guys again on Tuesday, Liberty Fest.
