December 15th, 2009Ok, lets start by saying we’re a tad late on this one. The video above by Benjamin Ducroz is a crazy experiment in mixed media video. It’s called Press + and features 3D animation as well as frames of the animation printed out and treated with watercolor and ink. The combination of these mediums is really what makes this video special. To think that he printed out a bunch of these frames and customized them, that’s some dedication. I think things are really going this way by saying that the laptop will be more dominant in the years to come because of its versatility. It simply has it all. And just watching a guy behind a laptop pressing some buttons might not do the trick. Nosaj Thing definitely does.

New exhibition in Ship of Fools. From December 11th till January 29th you’ll find the work of Luuk Bode, Daan Botlek and Erosie. They recently developed into an interesting similar approach, compared to being from very different planets in the past. All three of them play with their diverse backgrounds in the search for a way to react on their love/hate relationship with today’s excessive (visual) culture. Via Trapped in Suburbia Magazine.

December 7th, 2009Rotterdam Fixed Gear ‘The Revival’ Premiere

Roy really pulled it off. He organized the premiere of The Revival movie in Grand hotel Central in Rotterdam a week ago. The film had some really great shots which got everyone exited. People from like all over Holland (and even the globe) were present. Good to see them supporting their Fixed Gear community. After the premiere we went for the Nai building in Rotterdam to witness a fixed gear trick sesh. We sure had fun, see the gallery by Cloud Cuckoo after the jump why. Too bad we couldn’t make it to the afterparty though.
